Bill Clinton Tells Crowd ‘Hillary May Run Again’

Former President Bill Clinton is not closing the door on the chance that his wife, Hillary Clinton, could campaign for president in 2020.

He made the comments at an event on Wednesday at Georgetown University Law School attended by both Clintons and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“She may or may not run for anything but I’m never running for president again,” the 42ndPresident of The United States said.

It was not the only revelation made on the stage on Wednesday as Hillary Clinton said she played a role in Ginsburg’s selection to the Supreme Court.

“I knew that of all the people who were part of the women’s movement she was one of the key players because of her creative understanding of the law and her sense of commitment,” she said.

“I may have expressed an opinion or two about the people he should bring to the top of the list,” the former Secretary of State said.

“I was very well aware of her work as a litigator and academic and judge — admired it enormously,” she said. “I also knew what a difference her pioneering work on gender meant.”

Is she going to run again?

The former president said that one of the main reasons he picked her was that she was a pro-choice judge who would protect abortion.

“Abortion was a big issue in 1992 — the right to choose. I was one of the first pro-choice Democrats to run since Roe v. Wade, who actually benefited from Roe v. Wade,” he said.

“Now, she didn’t have to say anything about this. She knew this perfectly well that I was under a lot of pressure to make sure I appointed someone who is Simon-pure, which I had said was important,” he said.

But the main news that was made was the former president keeping the door ajar for his wife to campaign for president again, something she has hinted at recently.
